Henry Tinsley began making resistance boxes and galvanometers in 1904. From its humble beginnings, in a garden shed, in Beckenham; H. Tinsley & Company, now known as Tinsley Precision Instruments has remained the foremost manufacturer of Precision Resistance based products in the world.

Tinsley Calibration continues the tradition of Accuracy & Precision with its UKAS Accredited Calibration Laboratory 0057, one of the earliest Accredited British Calibration Service (BCS) Laboratories, Accredited on 29th November 1971,

Tinsley’s Accredited Resistance Calibration Capabilities makes it one of the foremost resistance calibration facilities outside of a National Standards Facility.

DC RESISTANCE

1 Ω, 10 Ω, 25 Ω and 100 Ω:  ± 0.35 ppm

1 kΩ and 10 kΩ:   ± 0.77 ppm and 0.65 ppm

10 µΩ to 1 Ω, Current Carrying:   ± 6.5 nΩ to 62 ppm

1 Ω to 1 TΩ, Minimal Power:   ± 15 ppm to 0.72%

AC RESISTANCE

2.5 Ω, 25 Ω, 50 Ω, 75 Ω, 100 Ω,
400 Ω and 1 kΩ at 75 Hz :   ± 3 ppm

10 Ω to 1 kΩ, at 75 Hz:   ± 4.7 ppm

500 µΩ to 10 Ω, shunts 40 Hz to 135 Hz:   ± 280 ppm to 0.07%
