Air Velocity & Flow Calibration
Air Velocity
The original Air Meter was invented by the late R.M. Lowne an English Inventor in 1865. At the International Inventions Exhibition held in London in 1885, a silver medal was awarded to Mr. Lowne's company for Portable Air Meters.
Air Meters were for over a hundred years the most satisfactory instruments for obtaining accurate measurement of air velocities in Mines, Ventilators, flues etc.
Littlebrook Calibration Services is one of the highest accuracy ISO17025 Accredited Air Velocity Calibration Laboratories in Europe. We are able to offer a range of calibrations to meet your technical needs and financial constraints:
- Pitot tubes E & S Types
- Hot wire Anemometers
- Vane Anemometers
- Cup Anemometers
- Ultra-Sonic Anemometers
| Air Velocity measurement against a Laser Doppler anemometer | |
|---|---|
| Calibration of Wind tunnels and similar devices: | |
| 0.05 m/s to 75 m/s: | ± 0.35% + 0.0065 m/s |
| Calibration of Anemometers and Pitot Tubes against a Laser Doppler Anemometer: | |
| 0.05 m/s to 50 m/s: | ± 0.6% + 0.015 m/s |
Accredited Pitot Static Tube Calibration forms part of the United Kingdom’s Mcert Accreditation Scheme for the Accredited Testing of Industries ‘Environmental Emissions. Typical E and S type pitot calibrations against the laser Doppler system have Velocity Uncertainties from 3 m/s to 50 m/s of ±(06 % + 0.015 m/s). Both τ and κ and their associated uncertainties at various velocities are also reported. The uncertainty of Pressure measurement is typically ±(0.15 % + 0.25 Pa).
Air Flow
Littlebrook Calibration’s have Accredited procedures in place for the calibration of Air Flow used in volumetric flow of air and gases in pharmaceutical , medical, air condition, and manufacturing industries.
